SB 2259 has passed both houses. It sets North Dakota State agency commodity group fees for the State Auditor. North Dakota Soybean Council (NDSC) was set at $6,000 dollars and most other groups at $4,000. NDSC’s latest fee was around $17,200 and unlike other commodities, is audited every year due to its status as a federal checkoff entity. Most other commodities are audited every other year. While this bill could prevail, there is another state auditor-focused bill, HB 1508 that is still in the works. If the bill passes it would supersede SB 2259 as the last bill to pass replaces any earlier.
We were in full attendance for the first Township Day Monday as we testified on one of their bills and were there when the group was addressed by the Director of North Dakota Department of Transportation, the Governor’s Office and Counties. Townships recognized the North Dakota Soybean Growers Association for its faithful support this session.
